About Medicaid. We accept New Mexico Medicaid, including the managed care plans listed above. Coverage rules change from time to time, so we confirm your benefits before your first visit and before you're ever billed.

How Coverage Works

Three steps, and we handle most of them with you.

01

Call With Your Card

Give us your insurance information by phone or through the contact form. Please don't type your member ID into the form. We'll take it by phone.

02

We Verify Your Benefits

We check your coverage for pediatric occupational therapy, including any copay, deductible, or visit limits, and explain what we find before your first visit.

03

Referral, If Your Plan Needs One

Medicaid and some other plans require a referral from your child's doctor and an authorization. We'll tell you exactly what to ask for and follow up on our end.

Common Questions

Do you take Medicaid?

Yes. Brighten Pediatric Therapy accepts New Mexico Medicaid. Most Medicaid plans require a referral from your child's pediatrician and an authorization before therapy begins, and we'll help you get both in place.

Do I need a referral?

It depends on your plan. Medicaid and some commercial plans require a physician referral and authorization. Others let you come directly. Call us with your plan name and we'll tell you which applies.

What if my plan isn't listed?

Call us anyway. We can often check whether your plan covers pediatric OT with us, and if it doesn't, we'll talk through private pay and other options.

Do you offer private pay?

Yes. Families without coverage, or who prefer not to use insurance, can pay directly. Call us for current rates.

What does an evaluation involve?

The first visit is a one-on-one evaluation where we get to know your child, listen to your concerns, and use standardized assessments to understand their strengths and challenges. You leave with a clear picture and a plan.

How soon can we start?

New patients are typically seen within two weeks of their first call. Authorizations can add a little time, so the sooner you call, the sooner we can begin.
