Every family should be able to use this website. Here's what we've done and how to tell us when something is in the way.
Our commitment
Brighten Pediatric Therapy wants this website to be usable by everyone, including parents and caregivers who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we've done
- Every page can be navigated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content.
- Headings are in a logical order and every page has a single main heading.
- Every meaningful image has a text description. Decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
- Text colors meet contrast requirements against their backgrounds, and body text is never set in light orange or yellow.
- Text can be resized to 200 percent without loss of content, and the layout works on phones as well as desktops.
- Animation is minimal and respects your device's reduced-motion setting.
- Form fields have visible labels, and error messages are announced to screen readers.
- We write in plain language and avoid jargon wherever we can.
Known limitations
The map on the Contact page is provided by Google and may not be fully accessible. The address and a link to directions are provided in text beside it.
